Setsubun is celebrated in Japan. It is celebrated on February 3rd or 4th. On that day they eat as much beans as possible so they live  a longer life. They have a ritual that involves throwing-beans. They also make beautiful masks.

The ritual is that in every dark corner they throw soybeans. But before the thrower yells “Fuku-wa-uchi,oni-wa-soto.” The translation for that is “in with good fortune out with devils.”

They make awesome masks and wear them. The one with the devil mask gets beans thrown at them.
